The Role of Games in Gamification
Games used to be a thing that you bought on a shelf. But now today, games are apps and services. Games have shifted from this product model to a service model in a lot of contexts. They're embedding themselves into the kind of the guts and libidos of players. And they're a thing where maybe addiction isn't always a bad thing because it just means that I'm enjoying myself and getting together with friends and want to play again.
