What Did Emma Subelame Bring to the Male Voice?
Mukta, to the end of her life, never sang alapen in any ronga mukta concert. She is perhaps more easily remembered as a singer of devotional music. But she was much more than this. These days, you know, contemporary musicians, especially contemporary women musicians, sing incredibly complicated talents. And sometimesthe ultimate horror is that an artist who was capable of such rigor and exacting position should have been so willing to continuously present what may be regarded as lighter forms.
