Repetition compulsion is an unconscious need to reenact early traumas in an attempt to overcome or master them. Many traumatized people expose themselves seemingly compulsively to situations reminiscent of the original trauma. These behavioral reenactments are rarely consciously understood to be related to early life experiences. We're going to talk about what some examples of unhealthy relationship patterns or behaviors look like.
