Sharmney spoke to one of the researchers involved, danishika racnika. She was trying to understand what happens in our muscles when they're injured. Muscle regenerates by the stem cell population that is present in the muscle. However, you really can't just take those stem cells and transplant them into muscle and it will not work. The sebrafish lave comes in as a model because they regenerate ther muscles super well.
