The sound of volcanoes was important to the film. Patrice didn't have three months to do field recording around volcanoes. She used seven banks of active volcanoes and different perspectives. It's kind of in between, in between an archive-outage sound and a more bombastic feeling. And it matches the emotional arc of the movie.
