A Listening Ritual for this Fall: Poetry Unbound
On Being with Krista Tippett
You Was Repeated 11 Times, but Other Things Are Repeated as Well
The poem makes use of a great device, which is repetition. And in this way, one of the things that the poem is doing is setting up a certain kind of pattern and acertain kind of recognizability to the ear, almost like a music. Look at all of these things in relation to each other, the raven and the wren are not lost. You don't need to be either because look at the pattern that's here and recognize that it might be your distress that's making your lostness feel worse. It could perhaps be that if you're able to gather yourself that you can find aCertain kind of strength.
