There's almost this expectation in the evans house that, ha, come august, we're gong to go play in the church socker league. That could cross the line to where it's not super healthy if my kids don't like it or if they just aren't inclined athletically and they don't enjoy it. Another way that we've tried to do it around our house is my son, alex, who's 22, he played the guitar, right? If you listen to our podcast, you've heard alex playing the guitar, cause he's our front bumper music. He was so good at guitar and loved it, even from his teen age years. And
As dads, we are the steward of our children, but it's God who owns them at the end of the day. We must serve our kids and give them every chance to know God and love Him; after that, it's up to them. We just have to let God direct their adult life and not connect our success as fathers to "their success." Whatever they get into, whether music, cars, or something we know nothing about, all we gotta do is be there when they need us the most. The rest can be left up to the Lord.
