Introduction

Hereditary angiodema or HAE is a genetic condition that involves recurrent attacks of swelling in various parts of the body. In Singapore, there are about 20 cases and Tuntoxing Hospital manages the largest pool of such patients among the public hospitals. The disease can be live-threatening if the airway were to be swollen and patients may actually suffocate.
