Chat gpt can be used to cut down on research time but the tool is not designed to investigate and find accurate answers. Stephen Schwartz became the legal poster child for chat gpt when he used it to conduct legal research then submitted to court in his filings all of the non-existent cases that chat gpt had invented for him. i will end with a quote from a letter signed by sam altman the creator of chat gpt elon musk and bill gates among many others who said mitigating the risk of extinction from ai should be a global priority alongside other societal scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.
