Severion and the Guild in Chapter Two

Severion has never known his father or mother and says memory oppresses me. He doesn't know how young he was necessarily when he came to the guild but we hear about this thing called the corpse door. The action he's describing here he's saying I don't have my parents in our guild Especially in winter people would come to the corpse door and beg to be emitted into the guild where they could be clothed and fed. And they will go off in great detail about what kind of torture they'll perform.
