The Importance of Compromising
In 1706, he makes a pilgrimage to Rome and it's a little quixotic. Pope Clement the 11th was the pope at the time. Louie sort of threw himself in the ground. He was like, send me anywhere. And Clement said, go back to France. There's so much to do in France. But he blessed him and he actually appointed him as a missionary apostolic. So he had this papal mandate to go and he spent the rest of his life on missions.
