Is There a Bilateral Parisurgical Block for the First Stage of Labor?
There's potential for injection of these high lines of local anesthetic into the fetal scalp which can cause very deleterious effects for the fetus. Another block would be a parivoltiable lumbar sympathetic block. The big disadvantage is one, it's not a continuous labor and on g-zic modality. It does involve bilateral injections to get coverage for the right and left side of the mom.
