The Life and Times of Wilhelm Liebnitz
Wilhelm Liebnitz from 1646 to 1716 was a German philosopher and mathematician. He conceptualized the computer even though all he was able to produce in his lifetime was a functioning calculator. His optimism about what outsourcing of our reasoning power to machines could deliver to society constitutes one of the long chapters of the history of the internet which I date from 1678 to sometime in the early to mid 2010s.
