Newman was deeply steeped in aristotle. He taught aristotle teutorials an oxford. So i think that when he does discuss development, he does follow these aristotelian lines. And hasn't the history of the church been like that? Very heresies and confusions and son the like aparea that are thrown towards the catholic, the christian community. It has to resolve that.
