In 19 53, the swanson food company made too many turkeys. In fact, they had 260 tons of frozen turkey left over after thanksgiving. What jerry thomas came up with was the t v dinner. Perfectly named, perfectly packaged. You didn't have to pay a lot for what was for dinner. And you could just go back to watching television. It was a triumph of convenience over taste.
