At any time in the power market, you have what's called an energy imbalance. If you already bought 100 megawatts and you're not taking down any, then you now own 100 megawatts at the real time price. This is lower case D, lower case R demand response, no coordination with the grid operator. And so ERCOT has complete control over your dispatch. They tell you what to do.
