The Life and Times of Karl Barth

Karl Barth has played a key part in my own personal and theological development. His emphasis on the freedom of God in Revelation both destroys our crumbling citadels and points to the rebuilding of something else completely that hangs in thin air, suspended by nothing but God's grace. But this is not to say that I am a Bart expert, alas I am a Bart Dillettont. So in the paper that I am about to read to you, I offer my thoughts regarding Bart's commentary on Romans 8 to 16 as a Pauline New Testament specialist.
