The theme of fulfillment is especially underscored in the gospel of Matthew. And that's really important, because we don't find that so much in Mark, Luke, and John. The very first verse of the gospel is the book of literally the Genesis of Jesus Christ. So you can't read Matthew apart from Old Testament.
