The Duke of Guju and the Mountain Kingdom of Lingjir
The ancient Lingjir state was situated just west of Tangshan in fabulous Hebei province. Guju was located next door and stretched east to the Baha'i Sea. In these mountain people who originally inhabited those two states were an ancient ethnic group called the Shan Rong. These two ancient territories that could trace their history all the way back to the Shang dynasty were well protected by the impenetrable forests and twisting valleys of the Yen mountains. Outsiders often referred to these two places as the mountain kingdoms.
