The Arensky Quartet

The Arensky Quartet is written for a very unusual configuration of one violin, two cellos, and one viola. The piece can't really be played on tour by quartets, since they would have to bring on an extra cellist. Rimsky Korsakov, who Arensky studied with, said that Arensky was nothing more than a clone of Chikovsky and would be forgotten.
