How Many People Beat the S and P 500 in 20 21?

If you've been in the s and p 500, you're not in a bear market. It was extraordinarily hard to beat that index. The indexers have out performed 90 % of the active money managers. My advice always is, if you love to play the market, ando you like that short term action, take 20%. But put that other 80 % in a set of well diversified investments. Could be a straight capitalization weighted index. i prefer weiting by dividends or earnings, which is of value,. tilted diversification. That's what i prefer as a long term investment.
