Is the Past Over?

It would be a great shame if people were to think that you're simply te document something as an historic phenomenon, says Solnitskin. The question is whether or not the past is over. As i likeit seems to me very important that we have a deep sense of what the the governing assumptions of our culture are and it's hard to transcend them.
