The Importance of AI in the News
This was a front page news story in the print edition of the New York Times right on the front page above the fold. That's prime media real estate. The Wall Street Journal ran an article with a similar headline, quote, AI poses risk of extinction, technology executives warn. In other words, the editors of this paper were at least communicating in one sense, look, we're afraid the human race may go extinct but there were five and a half other issues we thought were actually more important.
