Just like in the first movement, once Schuster Googers presents his ideas, he repeats them. There is a relentless repetition here of the DSCH motive in the waltz form. The second movement was terrifying, yes, but at least it had momentum. Here we seem to be in a doomed loop around and around and around the DSCH theme. Until Alfred Schnitt gives music came around, there wasn't any trill on earth that could feel as uncomfortable as this one.
