When to Target a Behavior
When do you target a behavior? When do you say that this is a challenging behavior and it has to be addressed? I don't know if your child is at an age where you can ask. Sometimes, you want to be careful because you don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. My son was a vocal stimmer. We call it vocal stereotopy if you want to Google. He sounded like R2D2 and very high pitched. If he liked something, you would hear that much higher, like pitch that an octave or too higher. It took us a while. And they taught him how to be able to make the noise inside his head.
