The World Health Organisation is warning policymakers around the world against being complacent on COVID-19. But when it comes to health policy in Australia, is that exactly what we're seeing? Complacency, said Ian. The government has dismantled largely the measurement system that would enable us to have an accurate handle on what the infection rate is. In the last six months, Australia has switched from a reasonably good record to having one of the highest per capita death rates in the year. New figures show that more than 100 COVID-related deaths were recorded in aged care over the new year.
