Data Contracts and Semantic Layers

I haven't seen a lot of practical implementation of this I mean like every company has some sort of you know like documentation rules and you know like a guidelines around that area. It's not like some you know like standardization like some systems and the phenolic kind of approach that I have been seen across multiple networks of implementing this. So yeah I just I try to understand this data contract should be a feature of some you knowlike of some software some tool we have.
