The Movie and the Poem
In the poem, gawayne journeys north to north wales. In this sparsely populated forest, he miraculously is able to find a splendid castle in the woods called audesar. This castle is presided over by a very hospitable and carism lord called bertelac. Now, to compare in the film, the film is actually a good deal more fantastical than the poem. The poem has some short passages that i think poignantly portray gawayne's fear and a terror - travelling alone through the woods with only his horse sleeping on the ground in his armor.
