Introduction

The fundamentalist adhere to a common cross-denominational creed, which coincides roughly with classical Reformation Protestantism. As a rule, they claim no exclusive authority for any denomination or church. They differ from such groups as the Seventh-day Adventists, the Jehovah's Witnesses, and above all, the Mormons. The movement represents merely the convergence of three older streams, Evangelicalism, Millennialism, and Biblical Literalism.
