Is It Not Only With the Distance, but Also With Sensitivity to Causal Relevance?

I think we have to bring it not only scope, but increased sensitivity to causal relevance that goes with that scope. And then you get, I think, plausibly, giving the notion of need as a real thing. The problem with us is we use the word need also for just relationships of causal necessity and so on. We tend to see the second quite rightly as a decision or a right, whereas the first is just a causal event. If we allow choice to map on to causal event, then the only chooser here is the entire universe. That's not explanatory, that doesn't give us anything.
