In the real presence, we have a substantial presence of jesus that is presented as given to us truly through signs. This real presence is an objective truth, regardless of our subjective knowledge or faith in that truth. Jesus lives now in heaven, eternally. So how can we say that jesus is alive here on earth in the eucharist?
