The Unartful Situation in the New York Times
CNN's John Sutter says the New York Times has had lots of great sports writers in recent years. But for 18 months, he says, it was as if they were "strangling this thing" right before our eyes. He says management made a shocking decision to spend half a billion dollars on sports writers. And then looked at their own sports section and said, how can we not edit this?Sutter: It's almost like time sports writers worked for what the country's most essential newspaper considered to be its least essential section.
