The Importance of Solzhenitskin's Guelegg Archipelago

Solzhenitskin's Guelegg Archipelago was the first work that succeeded in undermining the Marxist project from a moral and an intellectual perspective simultaneously. It became impossible for anyone who was willing to be part of the cultural moment to ignore the fact that something had gone dreadfully sideways. And so that was the book that did that and it made Marxism morally repugnant. The postmodernists also figured out something or run across something that really is an intractable problem.
