The Origins of the Duopoly
Virgers law states that two parties are a natural result of a winner take all voting system so europe doesn't have this. Whoever gets the most votes wins them all and it's really hard for a third party to beat out either the democratic candidate or the republican candidate. If there is no party that secures the majority then you can play a role maybe they appeal to you to bring you into a governing coalition which gives you significant influence over the direction of the government.
