The interface of genes and the environment, it's the way that particular alleles in your genome interact with the diet choices you make. You might have a very strong family history for cancer or for alcoholism. It doesn't mean you're going to be an alcoholic or get cancer because there isn't a gene for this. Some people have sort of an inherited predisposition that makes them more likely or more prone than others.
