Professor of soil science David Manning has been loitering around brownfield sites in Newcastle to find out why. We're looking at how we can change the input of carbon so it actually stays and remains more stable within the soil environment. So, if you want to build something spectacular on a new site that you want to then look at ways in which you can make it more sustainable.
