What Did the Partisans Do?

France won. Spain lost, you know, because this was the normal, traditional way of war in that time. But something interesting happened. The spanish refused to stop fighting. They could not defeat the french army directly. So what did they do? They were called partisans. This is a word in english, partisans. Another word in english similar is militia. These are kind of a like an informal army, right? They're not organized real army. It's just normal, regular people. They get some guns, they make a little group and fight. Partisans or militia. In spain they call them partisans, partisans. And these guys, they were nothing men. They were
