The War on Drugs in the US

The US government is now funding projects on what's called harm reduction. It provides free needles, for example, and test strips to check if drugs contain fentanyl or xylazine. Safe injection sites are also being piloted in some areas of the country. But they're very controversial because allowing people to bring their own drugs and shoot up in an area where you've got nurses that can help them overdose is extremely controversial here.
