"If you want to get out of that situation, all you have to do is figure out your standards," she says. "I wrote down everything I needed on a little piece of paper and told him exactly what I wanted ... he was able to meet them." If people are like earlier on in the situation, they could still list their values but then look and see does he meet these without having to tell them at the beginning? She adds: "It's so important to know them and they could change as we get older"
