I think Ali Wong plays her perfectly. She's just this Asian girl who grows up to be a chef. And that's a very non-traditional career path. Just having that non-nerdy, like not ambitious, but in a different, more creative way is really important for younger kids to see. Like go after your passions because it showed from the beginning she was super interested in cooking. Food is so important in Asian culture. It's so nice to see it not being glossed over.
