The Importance of Reading to Children With Literature That Represents Their Identity
I would say that I think we're in a period of where there's like a lot more representation starting to develop because of a lot of things that have happened. And so if you are showing a child a book that they cannot see themselves in, they start to question where they fit in. So it's important to have a diverse library selection to have books that are going to teach those messages and surround your children with all the spectrum of identities.
