Philosophize This!

CHAPTER

Introduction

A stoa was a common structure in ancient greek architecture that served a wide variety of purposes. In the second century a d there was a guy named diogenes, and he was incredibly rich. He paid to have a giant wall built on to this stoa that was right in the middle of town. A stoa offers people a little shelter from the elements while they do their business. Sometimes merchants would set up shop. Sometimes artists would lay out their art work for people to see. And sometimes people would just hold a gathering in honor of some local prestigeous war hero.
