The Importance of Social Reproduction in Capitalism

Cody: I think your chapter in the book on teachers and their, particularly on activist teachers is really, really, really heartening. It reminds us that social reproduction under capitalism means that the tasks of teachers and nurses and social workers is the production of not just any life, but that of a docile and exploitable worker. But we also need to not lose sight of the kind of old for Cody and ideas about the school as also being a disciplinary mechanism.
