Up to 40% of post partem individuals don't return for comprehensive post partem care. People who have no insurance or publicly funded insurance are even less likely to receive comprehensive post partum care. The provision of insurance throughout the first year, not just the first 60 days, is key in ensuring high quality and long term transitions of care. Support for things like transportation, child care, food resources, insurance coverage to avoid insurance churn,. health literacy support and some of those other so determinants are just incredibly important in this post partem period.
