Movie "Now You See Me" - Movie Session Tabula Rasa Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister
The movie in this session is about magic and magicians, and maybe you don't think of your personal self as a magician. But the mind that made your personality self is the mind that believes in the ego, and the ego is the sponsor of all magic. So basically, as we go through the day, that's magic when we swipe a credit card or make an Apple Pay. So if somebody from the 14th century came and watched you pay with Apple Pay and got goods and services making a flick with a card, he would go, Oh, he is a wizard.
But for the trick to be believed as real, the magician relies on trust and belief. When you put your trust and faith and belief in illusions, then we're into the realm of magic. A synonym for a magician is an illusionist, and believe it or not, all 7 billion people in the world are part of an illusion. In one sense, who you believe you are in this world is a great illusionist. Except for the part that you believe the illusion is real.
