The theory was there, yes. O bill sharp talked about what he never called as an index fun. He call it the market portfolio. The idea that the perfect representation ther trade off of all risk and all return was the market portfolio,. He meant everything, ley ad stocks, bonds, real state, the whole jambereeut. But you know, the finance industry, they didn't read economic papers coming out of chicago and stanford and and harvard. They were making too much money in the sixties to care a bad like ivory tower academics. So this didn't really kind of start filtering through except a few firteer financial institutions, into waltreet
