How to Be a Smart Sceptic and a Dumb Skeptic
Andrew morance writes for the New York Times. He says there are two kinds of scepticism: smart and dumb. Smart is questioning every claim, demanding evidence - that's real scepticism. Dumb is more like nejer contrarianism; everyone says earth is round but you say it's flat. Free speech should not be about settling a debate or being prescriptive.
