Jackie Kennedy Onassis restored every room in the White House to represent a different era. The Red Room was done in the style of James Monroe's mid-1800s tenure. The Green Room wasdone in federal furnishings of the late 1700s. Lincoln bedroom was done from his own Victorian era. So each room had a different theme and a different look and a different era of history represented with actual artifacts.
