The reality of the day to day of DevOps in a lot of organizations is actually not that great. Developers are overwhelmed by these you know quite complex tool chains and so something that used to be very simple now can take weeks or even days. A DevOps team basically trying to put off buyers and survive on a daily basis has some really solid foundations but there's no way they're going to add thousands of engineers every month who will understand their increasingly complex cloud native setup.
