The Role of Complexity in Neuropsychiatry

There's this issue of lumping and splitting that can be relevant for all neuropsychiatric conditions, but that's especially prominent in FNDs. Are functional tremors, ticks, and gate disorder in the same bucket? Or do we try to discriminate them in terms of development, clinical symptoms, treatment? I'm wondering how you think about this issue if you're a lumper, a splitter, or if there's an option C. Right. And my understanding is that complexity and heterogeneity are the rule rather than the exception when talking about F NDs.
